Slash is parting with a key piece of his personal history next month. The Guns N’ Roses co-founder is putting his first B.C. Rich Warlock guitar on the block November 5 via Julien`s Auctions in Los Angeles.

The instrument is, er, rich in history; Slash purchased it during the spring of 1984 at the Hollywood Music Store in West Hollywood and played it for the first time on June 16, with Hollywood Rose, the pre-GNR group that also included Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler.

Slash also played the guitar at his March 1985 audition for Poison, and it was with him for GNR’s first official show on June 6, 1985 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood and throughout the Appetite For Destruction album cycle.

Slash has provided a letter of authenticity for the auction, and he’s added value to the guitar with his signature and a skull-and-crossbones logo on the body.
