The guest list is filling up for the late Ronnie Montrose’s final album, which is being put together by Styx bassist Ricky Phillips for a hoped-for early 2017 release.

Phillips recently updated the project to Sleaze Roxx, saying original Montrose band singer Sammy Hagar has signed on along with Aerosmith`s Brad Whitford, Tommy Shaw of Styx, Toto’s Steve Lukather, former Grand Funk Railroad frontman Mark Farner, Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer, Santana/Journey co-founder Gregg Rolie, former Deep Purple/Black Sabbath/Trapeze member Glenn Hughes and Def Leppard’s Phil Collen and members of Mr. Big and Montrose’s Gamma band.

The album will feature recordings Montrose was working on when he took his own life on March 3, 2012, at the age of 64; he did not get a chance to put solos on any of the tracks. More details are expected to be announced soon.
