There’s apparently more shine in Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow than just the few shows the group played last year.
The troupe plans to release two fresh studio recordings — the new “Lands Of Hope And Glory” and a remake of “I Surrender” from 1981’s Difficult To Cure album — on Friday (May 26). The songs, which are now available for pre-order, feature new singer Ronnie Romero from Lords Of Black, who performed with Rainbow during its 2016 comeback shows.
A full new studio album is rumored to be on the horizon, while a recording of the group’s show last year in Birmingham, England, will be released on June 9.
Last year’s shows were Rainbow’s first since Blackmore formally disbanded the group in 1997, focusing afterwards on Blackmore’s Night, the Renaissance music band he leads with his wife Candice Night. Rainbow begins a short run of shows starting June 17 at the Stone Free Festival in London.
