Former Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell is getting by with a little help from his friends on his upcoming solo album.

Campbell has revealed that the guest list for the set, which he’s currently working on, includes Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, former Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver/Cult drummer Matt Sorum, Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn and Skindred’s Benji Webbe.

The guitarist tells Rocksverige that he’s “halfway through” the solo album, adding that, “It’s not going to be what people expect — I play piano on a few tracks. I’ve still got to write another six songs for it, but it’s not going to be all totally like Motorhead. After many years it’s just nice to be able to do what I want. I could do what I wanted in Motorhead, but we didn’t want to stray too far away.”

Campbell is also working with his children in a band called Phil Campbell & the Bastard Sons; it recently released the EP Live At Solothurn and is working on an album of its own, too.
