Scott Henderson is an award-winning guitarist and composer.  Having spent his early years in South Florida, Henderson relocated to Los Angeles in 1980, where his career flourished.

Critically acclaimed for his work with Tribal Tech, which he co-formed with bassist Gary Willis, Henderson has also toured and recorded with Chick Corea’s Elektric band, violinist Jean-Luc Ponty and legendary Weather Report keyboardist and composer Joe Zawinul.  He was also a member of HBC, with bassist Jeff Berlin and drummer Dennis Chambers, and the Vital Techtones, with bassist Victor Wooten and drummer Steve Smith.

Henderson’s music is often described as a creative mix of rock, jazz, funk and blues. His current trio includes bassist Travis Carlton and drummer Alan Hertz. The trio’s latest record, Vibe Station, was released in 2015.

Scott uses the Xotic RC-Booster, which he calls his “desert island” pedal.

FGPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Scott at the 2016 winter NAMM show.
